What is the point of this blog...
A very good question. I honestly don't know.
I've been in the world of IT for the better part of my life, most of that life in IT Security in one fashion or another.
One thing that I love of this world is that I keep learning, discovering and figuring out how I can break the new techs, how it gets broken, exploited, abused. By understanding the weaknesses, we can figure out how to track them, see when they are exploited, figure out how to protect from them...
Not an easy job I tell you... So many new toys, technologies, solutions... so much to learn... so little time... so much... so...
Something I've always tried to do is share my challenges and how I have overcome them as one thing I have learned in the last (my god... it's been 30 years now?!?!?!) number of years is that you cannot succeed alone.
Threat actors work in packs. Why are we working in a nuclear fashion? Let's work as one entity and as such, Google is your friend... most of the time. It helped me solve a lot of issues and provided answers.
So, I guess this is a way for me to give back to the community. Share my challenges. Share how I've overcome them. And, if possible, from the 32 different articles, posts, blogs, thoughts, reddits, alphabets that I've found and read for a specific issue, extract a better solution that is more secure. Why not since this is the world I live in...
I ask you one thing, dear reader. If I propose a solution and you have a better version of it, please comment with your solution... or post an article/blog/reddit or whatever is the new fad (I'm getting old... did I say that?). If my post helped, it would be kind of you to point to it like I will try to do most of the time... and drop me a line. I'll gladly adjust and give you the credit. I don't care for the credit. I think it is nice to respect the effort and the hard work of others and elevate them... ;)
Enjoy my random thoughts and be patient with me... I tend to write long, irregular posts... ;P
